Our family business started a long time ago—sometime between 1946 and 1949. Charles S. Foster and his son began a plumbing company right out of their house on Clark Street in Grass Valley.
In 1955, the business moved to a store on Main Street. Then in 1961, we moved again to where we are now at 780 Whispering Pines Lane in Grass Valley, California.
Later on, Charles’ son Wilmer and grandson Ronald decided to stop doing plumbing in 1980 and started a trucking company instead! Ronald and his wife Marsha ran the trucking business until they retired in 2018.
But in 1997, a new part of the family business began: Foster and Son Hose and Fittings. Ronald’s daughter, Tammy Foster McCrary, joined the company in 2002. In 2018, she and her husband Michael McCrary bought the business from her parents.
Now we’re in our fourth generation proudly carrying on the Foster and Son name!
